Super hot golfer Rory McIlroy, who recently broke up with his girlfriend of six years, has hooked up with current tennis world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki.

McIlroy, 22, and Wozniacki, 21, paired up on the final day of the British Open, reports the Mirror.

They were spotted sharing a kiss and getting cosy during a dinner in London last Sunday.

McIlroy met Wozniacki at the world heavyweight boxing title match between David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko in Germany on July 2.

As the Formula One season moves into its second half Sebastian Vettel's armour suddenly appears to have some chinks after Lewis Hamilton's superb victory left the German in the shade for the second consecutive race in his previously imperious Red Bull.

The world champion shrugged off being out-raced by Spain's Fernando Alonso in the British Grand Prix a fortnight ago but on Sunday he failed to finish on the podium for the first time this season when he under-performed at his home race.

While he still has a huge 77-point lead over team mate Mark Webber, the remaining nine rounds now promise to be anything but a dull procession to a second consecutive title for Vettel with Hamilton clearly eyeing a late charge.

Whether it is engine regulations, desperation to catch up or Red Bull team taking their foot of the metaphorical gas, the other two current powers of the sport are catching up fast.

It may still be too late to prevent Vettel winning the title but Hamilton, who clinched a brilliant victory in his McLaren on Sunday, was talking up the battles ahead.

"I think it is always a plus, no matter what point of the season is, to be at the front," he said after jumping into third place in the points standings. "We are back in the fight."

The circus quickly moves on from chilly Germany to a warmer Hungary this weekend where Hamilton has won twice. The season then takes a break.

Alonso was second despite not being entirely happy with his weekend at the Nuerburgring, which just shows how far Ferrari have come from their disappointing early races.

The great imponderable is why the Red Bulls are suddenly being snared with Webber third and Vettel only fourth in front of his home crowd.

"We weren't quick enough. I did everything I could," Australian Webber said. "These guys just had that little extra margin. We know what we have to improve on."

Vettel, who was second at Silverstone after team bosses ordered a peeved Webber not to overtake in the closing stages, can not rely on any support from the Australian who is still his biggest rival.

Asked if he expected a close fight now between the big four, Webber, the only one of the quartet not to have won the title, said: "Yeah hope so."

Ominous words for a wounded Vettel.

Former Miss Ireland Collette McBarron has claimed that on the night she slept over at love rat Ashley Cole's house they did nothing but talk about his marriage to Cheryl and why he cheated on her.

McBarron, 26, who insists she did not have sex with Cole, 30, but admits to sharing his bed, said that the footballer laid the blame on, among other things, "the pressure" of being married and the weight of "responsibility" on Cheryl.

The Chelsea defender laid bare his feelings about why his four-year marriage went so terribly wrong, ending in divorce last September, and McBarron revealed Cole referred to Cheryl as only "that person".

"What is it actually like being married?" the Daily Mail quoted McBarron as asking Cole that night.

"At first he just said, 'It's hard'.

"He wasn't very forthcoming but he didn't seem angry, just to be struggling to find the right words.

"So I asked him, 'What happened? What changed'?

"He said, 'Things change when you get married. You go from being someone's boyfriend to being their husband, it changes quite a lot of things. When you're someone's boyfriend, you don't feel so much responsibility towards that person.

"'You know when you're dating, you're out partying, you're out having a laugh with the boys. That changes when you're a husband. Once you're a husband you can't act in a way that you would have done if you were a boyfriend,'" she recalled.

McBarron also remembered how Cole responded when she asked him why he cheated on Cheryl, 28.

"I asked him, 'Why did you do it?' meaning why did you cheat on Cheryl. He didn't really answer. He sighed," she revealed.

"It seemed like he didn't really know the answer.

"I thought it was odd he didn't mention Cheryl by name. That conversation was the only time he talked about her during all the time we spent together and he referred to her only as 'that person'," she added.

McBarron also believes that Cole was never serious about getting Cheryl back, otherwise he would not have taken the risks like he did with her by spending a night together.

"The truth is I don't think even Ashley knows what he wants. Part of him wants the domesticity of married life and the other part wants to be this Jack-the-lad footballer," she added.

International Cricket Council (ICC) chief Haroon Lorgat has hit back at former Australian captain Steve Waugh's claim that 56 cricketers reported illegal approaches by bookmakers to the governing body last year.

Waugh recently claimed that the number of illegal contacts by bookmakers reported had risen dramatically over the last two years. Waugh said only five reports had been made by players in 2009, while 56 were lodged in 2010.

But, ICC chief Lorgat believes the increase does not reflect greater corruption. He said the increase in the number of reported instances shows that players are now more aware of their responsibility to report illegal approaches by bookmakers, The Sydney Morning Herald.

Lorgat also blasted Waugh about the authenticity of the figures he was revealing.

"I am not sure where Steve Waugh gets that figure from because we do not publish any such information," Lorgat was quoted, as saying.

"What I can say is that we have substantially more players coming forward and reporting approaches made to them and I think that is a result of the education process, the awareness that we have created amongst all of the international players and that is a good thing," he added.

Waugh, a member of the MCC's world cricket committee, has called players to take lie-detector tests in a bid to root out corruption from cricket.
